Knights of Columbus Bend Chapter
Knights of Columbus: This is an international society of more than 17 million Catholic men in more than 14,000 local councils dedicated to the ideals of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism. The Bend Council, chartered in 1917, is instrumental in the work of the parish, supporting the activities of the handicapped, pro-life, financial aid to the seminarians, and supporting various youth programs. Membership is limited to “practicing Catholic” men aged 18 or older. It was originally formed to render financial aid to members and their families. Mutual aid and assistance are offered to the sick, disabled, and needy family members. In addition, social and intellectual fellowship is promoted among members and their families through educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief, and public relief works. The Knights of Columbus often refers to its organization as the “strong right arm of the Church,” and every Catholic man is encouraged to be part of this amazing organization. Breakfasts: The Knights of Columbus offer breakfast in the Catholic Community Center on the 1st Sunday of the month, after 7:30 and 10 a.m. Masses, from September until June.
