St. Francis of Assisi Historic Church Restoration
Phase ll to begin.
The Historic Church stands as a symbol of hope and a testament to the Catholic faith in Bend. Its construction dates back over 100 years, and it is important to us that it remains a captivating beacon of beauty. This landmark is sure to inspire years of enjoyment while adding to Bend's historic beauty.
Phase One of the Historic Church Restoration included restoration and renovation of the sanctuary, stained-glass windows, sacristy, exterior brick and concrete, and basement. This work was completed in June 2024 at a cost of $2.3 million and was possible only through the generosity of our parishioners and benefactors.
With the overwhelming support of the parish, Phase Two has been scheduled to begin in January 2025 at a cost of $1.3 million, of which $974,302 has already been amassed. Phase Two completes the project and will entail restoration and renovation of the nave, including pews, flooring, stations of the cross, woodwork, walls, ceiling, paint, and lighting.
Gifts of any amount are most appreciated, and for those who wish to sponsor an item for Phase II of the restoration, we have ample sponsorship opportunities.
