Music Director

Summary
The Music Director leads and coordinates all aspects of liturgical music in the parish, fostering full, conscious, and active participation of the faithful by leading vibrant, prayerful, and theologically sound music in accordance with the Roman Rite and diocesan norms.
Qualifications/Experience
  • Practicing Catholic preferred.
  • Must be in good standing with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
  • Formal training in sacred music; bachelor’s or master’s degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Roman Catholic Liturgy.
  • Experience directing church choirs, cantors, and leading congregational singing.
  • Proficiency as a pianist and/or organist; strong vocal leadership.
  • Experience recruiting, forming, and retaining volunteers for parish music ministry.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 products; comfortable using online tools for planning and selecting music.
  • Must successfully complete and maintain diocesan Safe Environment training and certification, including background check.

Reports to: Coordinator of Liturgy & Stewardship.
Status: Full-time (40 hrs./week), exempt; eligible for diocesan health insurance and retirement plan.
Work Schedule: Includes evenings, weekends, Holy Days, and some holidays.
