Job Summary:
St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church is seeking a dedicated and dependable individual to join our team as a full-time Church Custodian. This role is essential to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. As the custodian, you will be responsible for routine cleaning, and minor maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain church buildings, including the 27th Street Church, 27th Street Rectory, Parish Office, Historic Church, Historic Rectory, Restrooms, and other common areas.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, Auto-scrub, and dust floors.
- Clean windows, doors, and other glass surfaces.
- Empty trash cans and recycling bins, ensuring proper disposal.
- Set up and break down for church services, events, and meetings as needed.
- Maintain cleaning supplies and ensure proper stock levels.
- Assist with organizing and maintaining storage areas.
- Ensure the safety and security of church property, reporting any safety hazards or maintenance needs.
- Provide general support during church events and activities.
- Residential Cleaning on two rectory buildings.
- Restroom cleaning
- Laundry service: Make and remake beds according to homeowner preferences (changing sheets, arranging pillows, and blankets neatly).
- Dusting
- Sweeping / Mopping Floors
- Empty Trash / Recycling
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous custodial or cleaning experience is a plus.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
- Able to lift 40lbs.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and maintenance procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
