I am very happy to welcome you to our exciting St. Francis of Assisi Parish Website. Our intent is to reach you wherever you are. This will help us to stay connected as a Church family even when you cannot be physically present in the Church with the rest of the Church community. The Website will give you an amazing overview of the Church and its activities. I hope you will find it useful and can find all the information you are looking for. We have tried to make it as informative and user-friendly as possible. I want to invite you to browse through the various pages of our Website.

Our Church offers a number of ministries in which you can get involved in the Church. It is my prayer that all the parishioners who browse through this Website will be inspired to get involved in one or more ministries in our Church. Please give it some thought and prayer. All that we have comes from God. Let us give back to Him as good stewards by sharing our time, talent, and material resources with the Church. "Give, and gifts will be given to you; a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing will be poured out into your lap. For the measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you” (Lk. 6:38). Have a great time browsing through the pages of this Website.

December 22:  Fourth Sunday of Advent

A kindergarten teacher told her students the story of the shepherds and the three wise men. Then she said, “Now tell me, who was the first to know about the birth of Jesus?” Immediately, a little girl said, “Mary.” Yes, It was Mary. If the same question were asked of a group of adults, perhaps we would think of some complicated answers. We tend to associate God with the spectacular or the extraordinary. So much so, that we fail to notice God’s presence and action in the ordinary events of our lives. Conception and child birth are ordinary events that have been there from the beginning of humanity. Yet, it was using those ordinary events that the Messiah came to this world.

A Savior has been born to you!

I would like to share with you some of my experiences of our pilgrimage to the Holy Land. There were 29 of us, and we had a blessed and fun time. The weather was very pleasant—it rained only a couple of days while we were there. We really did see a lot in 10 days—with so much to take in within such a short period of time. We reminded ourselves every day that we were pilgrims—not tourists.

We began each day with a Morning Prayer, celebrated Mass at various churches, did the Stations of the Cross walking the same path that Jesus took to Mount Calvary, and recited the rosary daily. There is so much to tell about all the amazing experiences we had. The bottom line is that the visit to the Holy Land has helped to make the Scriptures come alive. I hope all of you can go on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land at some time during your life.
