How to Get the Word Out for Your Event or Activity
At St. Francis, we have three main methods of mass communication: the bulletin, the weekly email, and the website and social media. For maximum effectiveness, parishioners who wish to get the word out about an event or activity in the parish are strongly encouraged to use all three. Requesting an announcement does not guarantee that your announcement will be published, but it does guarantee that it will be considered.
Bulletin Contact person: Tina Hill ([email protected])
The bulletin is published weekly in English and Spanish, and many of those who attend Mass take one home with them and read it each week. Announcement requests must be received no later than 5:00 PM Thursday, the week before publication (10 days before the bulletin date).
Announcements may be edited for clarity and brevity. Copy Teresa Mikkelson ([email protected]) on bulletin announcement requests.
Weekly Email Contact person: Deacon Phil ([email protected])
The weekly email is delivered in English and Spanish every Friday afternoon to all registered parishioners who have provided a valid email address and have not unsubscribed. Announcement requests must be received no later than Wednesday of the week the email will be sent and should include links to any websites or online sign-up forms that are referenced in the announcement. Announcements may be edited for brevity and clarity.
Copy Teresa Mikkelson ([email protected]) on weekly email announcement requests.
Website & Social Media Contact person: Sherri Wingerd ([email protected])
The parish website is the go-to resource for parishioners and visitors alike who need information on parish events and activities. All parish events, activities, and inquiry/sign-up forms should be on the parish website. Parish Social Media feeds are used to promote parish events and activities.
Copy Teresa Mikkelson ([email protected]) on website announcement requests.
End-of-Mass Announcements Contact person: Deacon Phil ([email protected])
The end-of-Mass announcements are the least effective communication tool we have. No more than two announcements are included; therefore, most requests for end-of-Mass announcements cannot be granted.
