  • A person who has already been baptized in another Christian denomination. The Catholic Church recognizes valid Trinitarian baptisms from other Christian communities.
  • Seeking to complete their initiation into the Catholic Church. Since they have already received the Sacrament of Baptism, they will not be baptized again. Instead, they will prepare to receive the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist.
  • Formally welcomed into the program. Their entry into the Catechumenate period is marked by a specific rite, the Rite of Welcoming the Candidates.
