Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults

RCIA is the process of preparation for non-Catholics wishing to become Catholic. RCIA addresses both the unbaptized and those who have been baptized in other Christian denominations. Adult Catholics who did not have an opportunity to complete the Sacraments of Initiation may prepare for Confirmation, First Reconciliation and the Eucharist with this group. What a wonderful gift you will give by being a sponsor or a team member to someone preparing for initiation into the Catholic Church. You will attend RCIA classes with the person seeking to join our Catholic faith. Adults and very mature teens are welcome as Sponsors.

Gifts needed – Sponsors must be practicing and confirmed Catholics with a desire to renew their own faith and a strong commitment to the person they are sponsoring. Team members need to have a strong faith, some teaching/facilitation skills. Previous experience of RCIA as a Catechumen or Candidate or as a Sponsor is advantageous. A one year commitment is required
