St. Francis of Assisi
Catholic Church is so excited for this year's 2009/2010 Religious
Education and Sacrament Preparation program. We continued the success and
here are the details!
If your child attends St.
Francis Parish School, they will receive their sacrament training in
the classroom during the school day! As parents you'll be required
to attend Parent Prep Nights for each sacrament.
If your child attends
Public School, they will receive their sacrament training during
Religious Education on Wednesdays at the Catholic Center. As
parents you'll be required to attend Parent Prep Nights for each
sacrament as well.
If you wish to "Home School"
your child on Religious Education and/or Sacrament Preparation
(Reconciliation & Eucharist only) then an
Off-site program has been set up. This option includes a private
session with Duke, Director of Religious Education. Please contact
him with questions.

The Role of
Parents
The role of parents in religious education is of such importance that
it is almost impossible to provide an adequate substitute.
Parents have the first responsibility for the education of their children.
Through the grace of the sacrament of marriage, parents receive children
at an early age into the mysteries of the faith of which they are the
"first heralds" for their children.
Family catechesis precedes, accompanies, and enriches other forms of
instruction in the faith.
Parents have the mission of teaching their children to pray and to
discover their vocation as Children of God. |
