Dear People of God,
Greetings and Peace to you.
Many of you have labored
long and hard over the past few years to accommodate the continued growth
of our parish. Our Catholic Center, with our marvelous school, stands as
a testimony to your dedication. You are to be commended for what you have
already achieved. However as you know, new occasions teach new duties,
and the time has come for us to join together as a community in building
our new church. It will be built adjacent to the St. Clare Chapel and the
school. It will be the center of our faith where we come together to
worship.
You and your fellow
parishioners have expended many hours working to determine the components,
layout and design of our new church. Our goal is to build an 800+ seat
church with an interior design that will, immediately upon entry, say
“Catholic.” It will be built within our stated budget of $5,000,000. The
building committee has worked hard to define a budget that will support
this building plan. They have done an excellent job.
One concern that has been
expressed frequently to me has been the question regarding the fate of the
downtown church. While there will have to be adjustments and changes, I
can assure you that there are no plans at this time to close the downtown
church. Our current plans call for using it for daily Mass and special
occasions including weddings and funerals. We will work out the
practical details of the continuing use of the downtown church.
In the coming weeks we
will be presenting to you in-depth details of the new church and the plan
for realizing our dream. This new campaign is our journey towards its
realization. We ask your prayers and help in making this new church a
reality.
The first step is to come
to our Kick-Off Event and see the new church building plans, meet the
Campaign leaders, and learn how we together will make this happen.
Together, we can
Complete the Journey that has been started and together, we can
Fulfill the Dream.
May our gracious God
continue to bless this wonderful parish and “water” it with His grace so
that it may continue to grow and flourish.
I remain your faithful partner in His service.
